Follow the steps below to configure your computer for Raider Internet for Mac OSX
1. Click on System Preferences
2. Click on the Network icon
3. In the Show: box select Internal Modem
4. Click on the TCP/IP tab
5. In the Configure: box select Using PPP
6. In the Domain Name Servers box leave blank
7. In the Search Domains box type: raider.co.nz
8. Click on the PPP tab
9. In the Telephone Number field type: 086722874
10. In the Account Name field type your Raider username
11. In the Password field type your Raider password
12. Check the Save password box
13. Click on the PPP Options button
14. Check the box Connect automatically when starting TCP/IP applications
15. Uncheck the box Prompt every 15 minutes to maintain connection
16. Uncheck the Disconnect if idle box
17. Check the box Disconnect when user logs out
18. Click the OK button
19. Click on the Proxies tab
20. Uncheck all the boxes
21. Click on the Modem tab
22. In the Modem box select Apple Internal 56K Modem (v.90)
23. Click the Tone button in the Dialling area
24. Click the box next to Show modem status in menu bar
25. Click the Apply Now button
26. Close the Network window
27. Your computer is now configured for Raider Internet
Follow the steps below to configure your computer for Raider Internet for Mac OS8
1. Double-click on the Hard Drive icon
2. Double-click on the Internet folder
3. Double-click the Internet Setup Assistant icon
4. Click the Update button
5. Click the right arrow button to continue
6. Choose the Add Internet configuration button
7. Click the right arrow button to continue
8. In the What would you like to name this configuration text box, type Raider Internet
9. For the How will you be connecting to the Internet button choose Modem
10. Click the right arrow button to continue
11. Select your modem from the list. If you do not see your modem listed select the next closest modem.
12. Select the Modem Port
13. Select the Tone button
14. Click the right arrow button to continue
15. In the What is the phone number for this configuration text box, type: 086722874
16. In the What name do you use with this service text box, type your Raider username
17. In the What is your password text box, type your Raider password
18. Click the right arrow button to continue
19. Under Is there an IP address for this configuration? Check No
20. Click the right arrow button to continue
21. In the What is the DNS address text box leave blank
22. In the What is the Domain Name (or host name) for this configuration text box, type raider.co.nz

26. Click the right arrow button to continue
27. In the What is the e-mail account for this configuration text box, type: your username@raider.co.nz
28. In the What is the e-mail host for this configuration text box type: smtp.raider.co.nz

30. In the What is the news group host for this configuration text box leave blank

Follow the steps below to configure your computer for Raider Internet for Windows XP
1. Click Start then Connect To, Show all connections
2. Click Create a new connection
3. Click Next
4. Select Connect to the Internet.
5. Click Next
6. Select Set up my connection manually
7. Click Next
8. Select Connect using a dial-up modem
9. Click Next
10. In the ISP Name field type: Raider
11. Click Next
12. In the Phone number field type: 086722874
13. Click Next
14. Type in your Raider Username and Password
15. Click Next
16. If you wish to have a shortcut placed on your desktop then select this item.
17. Click Finish
18. You have now configured your computer for Raider Internet
Follow the steps below to configure your computer for Raider Internet for Windows 2000
1. On your desktop, double click on My Computer
2. Double click on Control Panel
3. Double click on Network and Dial-up Connections
4. Double click on Make New Connection
5. Click Next
6. Select Dial-up to the Internet
7. Click Next
8. Select I want to set up my Internet connection manually, or I want to connect through a local area network (LAN)
9. Click Next
10. Select I connect through a phone line and a modem
11. Click Next
12. Enter the Raider Internet telephone number (086722874) leaving the area code blank.
13. Ensure New Zealand (64) is selected as the country code.
14. Click Next
15. In the User name field type your Raider username
16. In the Password field type your Raider password
17. Click Next
18. In the Connection Name field type Raider Internet
19. Click Next
20. If you want to set up your Internet Mail account now, click Yes otherwise click No and follow the prompts to complete you Internet Configuration.
21. Click Next
22. In the Display name field type your name
23. Click Next
24. In the E-mail address field type your Raider e-mail address
25. Click Next
26. Click the down arrow on My incoming Mail Server is a ___ server and choose POP3.
27. In the Incoming mail server field type: pop.raider.co.nz
28. In the Outgoing mail server field type: smtp.raider.co.nz
29. Click Next
30. In the Account Name field type your Raider username
31. In the Password field enter your Raider password
32. If you select Remember password it can make checking your e-mail quicker and easier, however anyone sitting at your computer could send or receive e-mail without your knowledge
33. Click Next
34. Click Finish
35. Your computer is now configured for Raider Internet
Follow the steps below to configure your computer for Raider Internet for Windows ME
1. From the Start menu, click Settings , and choose Dial-up Networking
2. Double-click the Make New Connection icon
3. In the Type a name for the computer you are dialling field,type Raider Internet
4. Click the down arrow on the Select a device drop-down list and choose your default modem
5. Click the Next button
6. Leave the Area code field blank
7. In the Telephone number field, type 086722874
8. Click the Next button
9. Click the Finish button
10. Click the Raider icon with your right mouse button, then choose Properties
11. Select Specify name server addresses
12. In the Primary DNS field leave blank
13. In the Secondary DNS field leave blank
14. Click the OK button
15. Click on the Security tab
16. In the User name field, type in your e-mail address
17. In the Password field, type in your password
18. Click the OK button
19. Click the Raider icon with your right mouse button, then choose Create Shortcut
20. Click the Yes button
21. You have now successfully configured your computer for Raider Internet
Follow the steps below to configure your computer for Raider Internet for windows 95 & 98
1. On your desktop, double click on My Computer
2. Double click on Dial-up Networking
3. Double click on Make New Connection
4. Type a name for the connection e.g. "Raider Internet" and click Configure
5. Check that the correct Maximum speed for your modem is selected: 14.4 Modems - Speed 19200; 28.8 Modems - Speed 38400; 33.6 & 56 Modems - Speed 57600.
6. Check that Only connect at this speed is not ticked
7. Click the OK button
8. Click the Next button
9. Enter the Raider telephone number (086722874) leaving the area code blank
10. Ensure New Zealand (64) is selected as the country code and click Next
11. Click Finish to save these settings
12. You will now have two icons in Dial-up Networking. One for Make a New Connection and one for Raider Internet
13. Right click on Raider Internet , then left click on Create Shortcut
14. Click Yes
15. Close all windows (by clicking on the 'x' button in the top right corner) and return to the Desktop
16. You will now have a new icon on your Desktop called Shortcut to Raider Internet
17. To connect to the Internet, simply double click on the Raider Internet icon. A Connect To box will appear
18. Enter your user name and password and click on Connect
19. Your computer will now connect you to Raider Internet
Follow the steps below to configure your computer for Raider Internet for Windows NT
1. Double-click the My Computer icon
2. Double-click the Dial-up Networking icon
3. Click the OK button
4. In the Name the new phonebook entry box, type Raider Internet
5. Check the box next to I know all about phonebook entries and would rather edit the properties directly.
6. Click the Finish button
7. Check the box next to User Telephony dialling properties
8. Leave the Area code box blank
9. In the Phone number box type: 086722874
10. Uncheck Use another port if busy
11. Click on the Server tab
12. Uncheck the box next to Enable PPP LCP extensions
13. Click the TCP/IP Settings... button
14. Click the Specify name server addresses radio button in the PPP TCP/IP settings area
15. In the Primary DNS field leave blank
16. In the Secondary DNS field leave blank
17. Click the OK button
18. Click on the Security tab
19. Click the Accept any authentication including clear text radio button in the Authentication and encryption policy area
20. Click the OK button
21. You have now successfully configured your computer for Raider Internet.

PC Mail Clients
Follow the steps below to configure Eudora 5.1 for Raider Internet:
1. Open the Eudora program by double clicking on the icon
2. Click on the Tools menu and select Options:
3. Click on the Getting Started category icon
4. In the Real Name field enter your name, as you'd like it to appear with your outgoing e-mails
5. In the Return Address field enter your Raider e-mail address (eg. username@raider.co.nz ). This is the address that will come up when your recipient clicks the Reply button on their computer
6. In the Mail Server field type: pop.raider.co.nz
7. In the SMTP Server field type: smtp.raider.co.nz
8. Click on the Checking Mail icon on the left hand side
9. In the Mail Server field enter: pop.raider.co.nz
10. In the Login Name field enter your username@raider.co.nz
11. In the Check for mail every _ minute(s) field enter 5 minutes
12. Ensure Don't check without a network connection and Send on check are ticked
13. Ensure Save password is checked. This will enable Eudora to dial into Raider when it needs to send or receive e-mail
14. Scroll down the list of categories (on the left) and click on the Internet Dial-up button.
15. In the drop-down box select your Raider Internet connection. If you haven't configured your computer for Raider Internet you will need to exit Eudora and do this first.
16. Ensure Only do automatic checks when a network connection is already established is checked.
17. You have now configured Eudora 5.1 for Raider Internet
There are other options and settings in the other categories that relate to how Eudora works and looks. Have a look through the different categories to customise Eudora according to your own preferences - but the options described above are the ones important to getting your e-mail to work. If you're not sure about a particular option, it is best to leave it as it is.
Note: The settings for the Kerberos and Auto Configure categories are not used by Eudora and are therefore best left unchanged.
Follow the steps below to configure Netscape Communicator 4.7 for Raider Internet
Note: Do not click OK until all preferences are entered.
1. With Netscape open, click Edit and then Preferences
2. Highlight Navigator in the left-hand Category window
3. Select the Home page radio-button and type a website into the Location field. This will be your home page
4. In the left-hand Category window, click the small cross next to Mail & Newsgroups. This will bring up all the sub-categories that can be edited.
5. Click the Identity category to the left and type your display name and e-mail address into the appropriate fields on the right. These are the details people will see when they receive an e-mail from you. Reply address, Organisation and Signature file are optional.
6. In the left-hand Category window, click the Mail Servers option
7. On the right-hand side, click the Add button.
8. In the Mail Server Properties box that appears: type pop.radier.co.nz into the Server Name field.
9 . Select POP3 as the server type.
10. Enter your username@raider.co.nz into the User Name field. Having the remember password box ticked makes checking your e-mail quicker and easier but it also means that anyone sitting at your computer can check or send mail from your address without your knowledge.
11. Tick the remaining boxes according to choice.
12. Click OK on the Mail Server Properties dialogue box, pop.raider.co.nz will now appear in the Incoming Mail Servers field.
13. In theOutgoing mail (SMTP) server field type: smtp.raider.co.nz
14. Under Use Secure Socket Layer , select the Never button.
The remaining options in the left hand Categories window are optional and should be worked through according to individual user preferences. When finished, click OK to save your new configuration.
Follow the steps below to configure Outlook Express 5 for Raider Internet
1. Click the Tools menu near the upper left of the screen. In the drop box that appears clickAccounts.
2. In the Internet Accounts box that appears, be sure the Mail tab is selected and then click the Add button
3. In the small grey box that appears, click Mail. The Internet Connection Wizard will appear.
4. Enter your Display name. This is a label that will be sent with your e-mail, but should not be confused with your e-mail address.
5. Click Next
6. Check I already have an e-mail address that I'd like to use
7. In the E-mail address field enter your Raider e-mail address in the format username@raider.co.nz
8. Click Next
9. Your incoming mail server should be designated as a POP3 server
10. In the Incoming mail server field type: pop.raider.co.nz
11. In the Outgoing mail server field type: smtp.raider.co.nz
12. Click Next
13. In the Account name field enter your Raider username in the format username@raider.co.nz
14. In the Password field enter your Raider password
15. If you select save password it can make checking your e-mail quicker and easier,however anyone sitting at your computer could send or receive e-mail without your knowledge.
16. Be sure that Secure Password authentication is not ticked
17. Click Next
18. Click Finish to save your configuration
19. Close the Internet Accounts box
20. Now when you click Send and Receive , Outlook Express will check your e-mail. Copies of your outgoing e-mail will be saved in yourSent Items folder.
Follow the steps below to configure Outlook for Windows 2000
1. Open Outlook
2. From the Tools menu, choose Accounts
3. Click the Add button, and select Mail
4. Type your name in the Display name box
5. Click Next
6. In the E-mail address box type your Raider e-mail address
7. Click the Next button
8. From the drop down box select POP 3
9. In the Incoming mail server field type: pop.raider.co.nz
10. In the Outgoing mail server field type: smtp.raider.co.nz
11. Click Next
12. Select Log on using:
13. In the POP account name box, type your Raider username@raider.co.nz
14. In the Password box type your Raider password
15. Click Next
16. Select Connect using my phone line
17. Click Next
18. If you have already configured your computer to connect to the Internet through Raider Internet checkUse an existing dial-up connection and highlight the Raider connection displayed. If you haven't configured your computer to connect to Raider go to Step 22.
19. Click Next
20. Click on Finish to save your settings
21. If you haven't configured your computer for Raider Internet check Create a new dial-up connection
22. Click Next
23. In the Telephone number field enter: 086722874, ensuring you leave the area code blank
24. Click Next
25. Type in your username@raider.co.nz and password
26. Click Next
27. In the Connection name box type Raider Internet
28. Click on Finish to save these settings
29. You have now configured Outlook for Raider Internet
Mac Mail Clients
Follow the steps below to configure Eudora 5.0 for Raider Internet
1. Open Eudora 5.0
2. Click on Special in the tool bar, then on Settings...
3. In the Username box enter your username@raider.co.nz
4. In the Mail Server box enter: pop.raider.co.nz
5. In the Real Name box enter your name
6. In the SMTP Server box enter: smtp.raider.co.nz
7. Click OK
8. You have now successfully configured Eudora for Raider Internet.
How to use Eudora 5.0
Checking your E-mail
1. From the Menu select File and Check Mail
Sending E-mail
1. From the Menu bar select Message and then New Message
2. Compose the new message
3. Enter the recipients e-mail address in the To field
4. Click on Send
Open Address Book
1. From the menu select Window and then click on Address Book
Add Entry to Address Book
1. From the Menu select Special and click on Make Address Book Entry. Follow the steps below to configure Eudora Light for Raider Internet
2. On your tool bar click on Special then Settings
3. In the POP account field type: username@raider.co.nz
4. Type your name in the Real name field. This is the name people will see when they receive an e-mail from you
5. Click OK
6. In the SMTP field type: smtp.raider.co.nz
7. Click OK
Follow the steps below to configure Mac OSX for Raider Internet
1. From the System Menu choose System Preferences
2. Click on the Network Icon
3. Click on the arrow box on the Show pop-up list and choose Internal Modem

How to check your mail
1. From the File menu select Check Mail
2. New Mail will be downloaded and your Inbox will appear
Sending Mail
1. Select Message from the menu and click on New Message
2. Compose the new message and click Send
Follow the steps below to configure Netscape Communicator 4.7 for Raider Internet
1. Open Netscape Communicator 4.7
2. Click on Edit then Preferences
3. The Your name field type your name
4. In the E-mail address field type your Raider e-mail address in the format username@raider.co.nz
5. Click OK
6. In the Server Name field type: pop.raider.co.nz
7. In the User Name field type your username@raider.co.nz
8. Click OK
9. You have now successfully configured Netscape Communicator 4.7 for Raider Internet.
Checking Your E-mail
1. From the Communicator Menu , select Messenger
2. Enter your password if prompted to do so
3. Click on Get MSG
4. Click on Inbox to see your new mail Sending E-mail
1. Click on the New Msg icon in the toolbar OR from the File menu, select New , then Message.
2. Type your e-mail
3. Click on Send MSG
Follow the steps below to configure Netscape 6 for Raider Internet
1. Open Netscape 6
2. Click on Tasks then Mail & Newsgroups
3. Check the ISP or email provider box
4. Click Next
5. In the Your Name field type your name
6. In the Email Address field type your Raider e-mail address
7. Click Next
8. In the Server Type field select POP Mail Server
9. In the Incoming Server Name field type: pop.raider.co.nz
10. In the Outgoing Server Name field type: smtp.raider.co.nz
11. Click Next
12. Type your Account Name . This can be whatever your want as it doesn't affect your e-mail performance and is only seen by you.
13. Click Next
14. Check you have entered the correct username@raider.co.nz and e-mail address
15. Click Finish
Checking Your E-mail
1. Open the mail programme by clicking on tasks from the menu bar and selecting Mail
2. Click on Get Msg from the tool bar
3. Enter your password if it is not already saved
4. Click on Inbox to see your new mail
Sending E-mail
1. Select New Msg from the Tool Bar
2. Complete Address and Subject fields and type your message
3. To open your Address Book click on Tasks from the menu and select Address Book
4. Click the Send icon in the Tool Bar Add a sender of a message to the Address Book
1. In the body of the received mail click on the e-mail address of the sender which is in the From field.
2. Click on Add to Address Book
Follow the steps below to configure Outlook Express 5 for Raider Internet
1. Open Outlook Express
2. Click on Tools
3. Select Accounts
4. Click on New
5. In the Account name box type Raider Internet
6. Under Personal information enter username@raider.co.nz
7. Under POP server type: pop.raider.co.nz
8. If you want O to save your password check the Save password box and enter your Raider password. Note: this means anyone sitting at your computer can send and receive e-mail without your knowledge
9. In the SMTP server box type: smtp.raider.co.nz
10. Click the Options tab
11. If you want to add a default signature or change any of your server options do it here
12. Click OK
13. You have now configured Outlook Express for Raider Internet. |
